SUMMARY:Aid for Artsakh
DESCRIPTION:The unfolding humanitarian disaster in Artsakh over the past few weeks has led to 100\,000 fellow Armenians leaving their homes\, travelling to Armenia to escape Azeri aggression and atrocities. Our refugee sisters and brothers from Artsakh need our material support now to provide clothing\, food\, and shelter to overcome these incredibly challenging conditions. \nAlthough the LA chapter has decided to cancel it’s 55th anniversary Gala out of respect and solemnity given the grave circumstances in Artsakh\, we can still harness the generosity and dedication of our members and supporters to donate to support the Artsakh refugees in need. While we no longer will be showing up to an event in person\, we need to show up with financial support for our compatriots. All the donations collected will be submitted to Armenian Relief Society on behalf of Homenetmen LA\, which is supporting the humanitarian response on the ground in Armenia. \n\n\nDonation

SUMMARY:46th Navasartian Games & Festival
DESCRIPTION:Organized by Homenetmen Western USA\, the Navasartian Games launched in East Los Angeles in 1975. It now boasts the participation of 300 teams\, 3\,200 athletes\, 1\,100 scouts and attracts over 35\,000 spectators over a period of eight weeks each year. The games culminate on the weekend of the Fourth of July\, with a festival and an elaborate Victory Parade featuring the collective family of Homenetmen athletes\, scouts\, parents and volunteers from the 18 chapters in the Western US. With the participation of over fifty local businesses and organizations in the food and games booths of the festival\, the Navasartian Games are more than just a Homenetmen event. These games have a special place in the heart of the community and feature all that is right with the community. After all\, these activities are geared towards keeping the youth away from negative influences. By participating\, they become involved in family and community oriented activities. \nTeam sports registration including basketball\, soccer\, and volleyball are completed and schedules are available on Homenetmen.net. \nIndividual sports including track and field\, table tennis\, swimming\, and chess will take place during the final weekend of the Games at Birmingham High School (17000 Haynes St\, Van Nuys CA 91406). Schedules and race details for specific events are below\, as well as a link for registration. Participation fees for individual sports are $40. \nTrack and Field:\nFriday\, July 7:\n• U14 and below: 5-7pm\n• Hrashq: 7-8:30pm\n• U15 and older: 8:30pm onward \n \nSwimming:\nSunday\, July 9: Starting 9am \n \nChess:\nSaturday\, July 8: Starting 10am \nTable Tennis:\nJuly 6\, 7: after 6pm\nJuly 8: 9am-4pm\nJuly 9: 9am-6pm\n*Schedules for specific division on these dates will be announced soon \nRegister

DESCRIPTION:Homenetmen Educational Workshop \nThe Homenetmen Regional Executive Board invites all chapter members for an educational workshop which will take place on Saturday\, March 18th 2023 from 10:00am to 2:00pm at the Regional Office’s Kevork Andonian Hall\, located at 2324 Colorado Blvd\, Los Angeles CA 90041. \nThe goal of the workshop is to provide a high level explanation of the Homenetmen organizational structure\, and how all the various Chapter and Regional committees in the Western US Region interact and work towards Homenetmen’s mission of serving our community youth. If you are interested in how or why Homenetmen operates the way it does\, this is a great opportunity to learn and ask any questions you may have. \nWe encourage all interested members to attend; this is a free workshop. All scouts should wear a chapter shirt and poghgab. Any appropriate pants\, shoes\, and sweatshirts can also be worn. \nThe cost of attendance will be $80\, and scouts can additionally bring up to $50 for souvenirs (optional). Please contact K.
