LA 5K

The McCourt Foundation is organizing their annual LA 5K run through Los Angeles on Saturday, March 15th. Homenetmen LA is organizing a team to run in this event as a new and fun way to raise some funds for a number of activities this year, including to support our scouts attending the Intercontinental Summer Camp at Camp Tecuya, as well as our athletes who are going to Armenia to participate in the 12th Pan Homenetmen Games!

The LA 5K is open to participants of all ages and abilities – no experience in running previous distance events is necessary. Typically runners can finish the 5K in 30-40 minutes; you can also choose to walk the distance typically in 45-60 minutes. Experience an iconic run as you run through beautiful Elysian Park before a rewarding finish set against the backdrop of world-famous Dodger Stadium. All participants will receive a race shirt, finishers medal, post-race refreshments and a truly unforgettable race experience.

A Homenetmen-specific link to register on the LA5K website will be provided. In addition, a separate individualized online pledge page will be provided to each team member to help your personal fundraising effort.

We ask each registrant to pledge to raise at least $175 to participate in our team – of course we hope you can raise much more through your network to support our scouts and athletes!
